June 15th the kids enjoyed our guest speaker & new volunteer a local artist & pottery maker. She was kind enough to bring all sorts of sculpting tools, and clay for the kids to create amazing pieces of artwork to express themselves. Butterflies, bowls, plates, handprints and monsters galore were produced. Towards the end of the six week course she will bring the pieces back to the children, after baking them in her kiln.The kids loved every minute of it.

Parenting Classes

Parenting classes are every Wed. night the month of June, and I’m looking forward to doing more educational and therapeutic art projects with the children’s group. This week, sculpting clay monsters and reading “Where the Wild Things Are”. Last week’s bug projects were a huge success with our small audience.

The kids very much enjoyed Eric Carle’s “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, while crafting their own caterpillars out of an assortment of materials. Also, on the to-do list is the start of organizing the October Fundraiser event. Live music, h'ordeuvres, silent and live auction items, lots to do.

Volunteer Crisis Line training is now finished, & certificates were awarded. Such a compassionate group of people! This week planning our Latte Fundraiser at our local Farmers Market, and advertisements for the summer to promote all our free educational classes to the county.
